About Design Intervention
Everyone deserves a home that is beautiful, welcoming and functional. That is the principle that Design Intervention was founded on. It is our firm belief that good design is nice to look at, but great design is as enjoyable to live in as it is to look at. Our clients can expect rooms that “work” on both levels.
No matter what your budget, Design Intervention can work with you to create the home you’ve dreamed of. By working with what the client already owns and loves, we can create a fresh look with minimal investment. For the more generous budget, we can help focus your investment to create a visual impact in your home. We specialize in making the ordinary special and unique by applying creative solutions to your design challenges. Let us “put a smile on your place!”
About Beth Soggs
Design Intervention was started by Beth Soggs in early 2008 as the next chapter in a story that has always included creativity, color and design. From a time when she was only a girl, Beth was planning design schemes for her Barbie Dream House - using her creativity to craft furnishings and decor out of paper rolls and aluminum foil. In college, Beth worked in the theatre department, helping to create set designs with dramatic visual impact.
In 2000, her love of color and fabric led her to design and craft her own successful line of handmade handbags, sold to clients as far away as Japan. While handcrafting each piece, she developed her appreciation of fabrics - how pattern and texture contribute to design.
In the meantime, Beth also indulged her other love: interior decorating - decorating her own homes, and also working on the homes of neighbors and friends, helping them to cultivate and enrich their own styles.
Anyone who knows her will tell you she is expert in locating the perfect piece for a room - whether by scouring local shops and antiques dealers or by shopping the internet.
Now, these threads of interest and experience have come together in the form of Design Intervention - a decorating firm committed to creating beautiful and functional rooms for it’s clients in a budget-friendly way. That means working with what a client already has and generously applying ingenuity and creativity in unique ways, and always with a sense of humor and a smile!
Beth resides with her husband, three children and two goofy dogs in New Hartford, NY. She received her Interior Redesign Industry Specialist certification from The School of Interior Redesign.
